Omni Arena Demonstrates Staying Power at Pinballz

Pinballz, a family entertainment center in Austin, TX, installed the world’s first Omni Arena four years ago. The attraction became a big hit, generating revenues of $12K to $15K a month in its first year. Now, four years later, Omni Arena is still outperforming, regularly earning $10K a month or more.

Repeat Play is Key

Omni Arena’s staying power is in large part thanks to its high repeat play rate. At Pinballz, 30% of all plays are by repeat players, meaning customers who’ve played the attraction at least twice. Ten players have already played Omni Arena over 50 times, paying $15 for each game!

What other VR attraction do guests play over 50 times?

“Omni Arena has been a top attraction for us,” says Darren Spohn, Pinballz’s owner. “Even after four years, revenues are still strong, and we still see lots of repeat play. Some of our guests come to Pinballz regularly to play in the monthly Omni Arena contests, which is a nice benefit.”

Esports Drive Repeat Play

Omni Arena features built-in esports contests with a $100,000 prize pool sponsored by Virtuix. Players can win real money in weekly and monthly contests that are automated by the system (operators don’t need to do anything). These prize contests motivate players to return to the venue every week.

One such player is Mitchell Collins, known on the leaderboards as Mithykyl, who formed the “OkayestVR” esports team with three friends to compete in Omni Arena’s prize contests. They’ve played Omni Arena more than 200 times!

OkayestVR created team T-shirts and launched their own Instagram channel to post about their games and winnings. Mitchell often invites friends to join, generating new revenue for the FEC.
